Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an American festival that is celebrated to appreciate the gifts of life. The legend is that when the first pilgrims landed here Native Americans shared their food with them and the new immigrants were very thankful and thus began the tradition. Fast forward 400 odd years a lot has changed except eating Turkey on Thanksgiving. Families get together and eat a feast of a meal on this day.

Anyway today Americans complain that the world is not enough for them and I have come across very few who are genuinely thankful for what they have. People don't take as much time to say thanks for their gifts as they do to complain about their bad luck. That includes me.

Lastly I definitely wouldn't say that the Turkeys are thankful for anything. They are bound to end up on someone's table dead, roasted, and seasoned.

Winter Views of Texas

It is not winter yet... it is still fall but to me it seems like winter. The sun sets around 5.30 pm leaving the cities dark with few sodium vapour lamps illuminating the night skies. Today is Black Friday... known in the US for its shopping and deals. Today was different from the previous years because nobody seemed to want to spend any money, the busiest part of the mall was the food court and the ice skating rink. That is what I would call a damp squib for retailers who were hoping to make big bucks on this day.

New Soda for the Festival Seasons

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Jones Soda. All opinions are 100% mine.

This year for Thanksgiving I decided to try out the latest product in the market. A uniquely different drink, the Tofurky and Gravy Jones Soda . This is a soda designed for those vegetarians who feel left out during turkey dinners around this season. The soda is the best meatless option and blends excellently with mashed potatoes and dressings.

I received the package yesterday and immediately decided to try it out over dinner. I couldn't just wait for thanksgiving day to try it out. When I signed up to receive the package I didn't know what I was getting into and was not expecting anything. I am glad that I signed up for this offer because of the snazzy goodies I got with the soda. I opened the bright green box and found the brown liquid filled clear bottle and wondered what a different colored drink this is.

Then we tasted the drink and it completely blew my mind. The soda is smooth, tangy and fun to drink at the same time. I now know why my meat eating friends rave about turkey during the season. I am sure my friends at school would love this drink and I am looking forward to see the surprised look on their faces when they taste this ludicrously smooth beverage. I would say this is a perfect complement for the holiday season.
