If Yesterday was thunderstorm evacuation and sheltering, today was a "typical Texas day". When I say typical Texas day, it means a day of contrasts in terms of weather. Morning I woke up to the booming thundershowers, I stepped out only to see streets overflowing with rainwater and vehicles throwing up the water onto sidewalks. As the day progressed the rain mellowed down and stopped and by 9.30 am there was no rain and sun rays started creep out of the cloud cover. Even though sun didn't come out till later in the afternoon, the relative dry heat dried up the streets in just under 2 hrs and it was back to normal, Texas summer. Driving without the A/c made me sweat like a pig.
The day progressed and by 3 pm, there was not even a faint trace of yesterday and this morning's thunderstorm. Floors were dry, blazing sun rays beat down upon the cars, which felt more like an oven on the inside. Once again I wondered about Texas weather and it was an affirmation it is definitely crazy. Sunshine amidst icy winters and short sporadic thunderstorms bringing in cooling effects during blazing summers. But the respite is only for one day, I am sure it will be back to normal from tomorrow for sometime.
Summer is here and it is soon going to be 100+ degree F and I will hate this place for that heat.
