Thomas Jefferson Park, Irving

Today we participated in a Kite Flying Festival conducted by US-based non-profit organisation Vibha. The event was held at the expansive Thomas Jefferson Park in Irving. The beautiful green space has one of the rivulets of Trinity river flowing through its manicured lawns. The tree lined trails, children play areas and vast open spaces present a nice picture for city sore eyes. This is something I really like about American town planning, water bodies and natural features are left alone, if it were in Bangalore, this rivulet would have probably been closed and converted into a 30'X40' site. I believe this respect for environment and a commitment to leave natural heritage alone is something we must learn from the town planners here. This will help our great nation become even greater. Here are some pictures of the Jefferson Park, enjoy. If you wish you could leave some comments too!
